Carl Meeks has actively participated in martial arts since 1971. His training includes Judo, Okinawan Kempo Karate, Southern Chinese Shaolin kung fu, Chinese Chin Na. Carl has earned a second degree black belt in karate and began studying Tai Chi in 1990, becoming a member of the International Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Association in 1999. He has concentrated his Tai Chi Chuan studies under Master Yang Zhenduo (4th generation Yang family), Master Yang Jun (6th generation Yang family) and Han Hoong Wang (Michigan Yang Chengfu Tai Chi Chuan Center). He is the co-founder of the Kentucky Tai Chi Chuan Center and Director of the Yang Chengfu Tai Chi Chuan Center, USA - Louisville and the Faculty Advisor/Instructor of the University of Louisville Tai Chi Club. Carl is a member of the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame and 2005 Tai Chi Instructor of the Year. Carl teaches the 103 posture hand form, 49 posture competition form, 13 posture hand form, the standard 24 posture form, Tai Chi Sword and Saber. Carl also teaches classes in Chin Na and Women's Self Defense.
